Accessibility Statement

This statement was last updated on September 14, 2026.

We at the Manitoba Electrical Museum & Education Centre are working to make our website accessible to people with disabilities.

What web accessibility is

An accessible site allows visitors with disabilities to browse the site with the same or a similar level of ease and enjoyment as other visitors. This can be achieved with the capabilities of the system on which the site is operating, and through assistive technologies.

Accessibility adjustments on this site

We are working to align this website with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) and to make it easier to use with assistive technologies such as screen readers and keyboard navigation. As part of this ongoing effort, we are reviewing and improving:

  • Adding alternative text to images

  • Using a clear, consistent heading structure on every page

  • Improving color contrast to meet accessibility standards

  • Reducing unnecessary motion and animation

  • Making video, audio, and downloadable files accessible

Visiting the Museum

We want every visitor to be able to enjoy the museum. If you have questions about accessibility at our physical location — such as parking, entrances, washrooms, or seating — please contact us before your visit so we can help you plan ahead.
